Tropical Cyclone Sidr, with sustained winds of at least 150 mph, made landfall Thursday night along the western coast of Bangladesh near the border with India, unleashing floodwaters. It has killed more than 3,100 people and the Aid agencies say, death toll may cross 15,000.

Sidr's powerful winds and lashing rain uprooted trees, leveled homes, and even damaged buildings where residents sought shelter; displacing more than 1 million people. There is currently no electricity in that region.
